Selects Haldex
Air Brake
Systems
|
|
Haldex manufactures a complete line of air treatment products to
provide the best available solution to ensure a clean, dry compressed air system.
Any weakness in the air treatment system could lead to a complete system failure. Haldex
Air Dryers, Oil Separators and Air Management Systems undergo severe laboratory and field testing where they are subjected to extreme environments, forces, and pressures to ensure that they will function properly under any circumstances.

Haldex offers two
Desiccant-type Dryers:
Pure Air Plus
DryEST
Purpose:
Haldex Air Treatment Systems are used to remove moisture, oil and other contamination from the airflow before reaching the
vehicle's air system. These contaminates can create problems with corrosive damage to air components. More severe problems can occur in cold weather when moisture can condense and cause a
freeze-up.
Operation:
As contaminates enter the dryer the majority of the free water and oil are dropped from the airflow and collected in the sump area of the dryer. The moist air continues into the desiccant bed where the moisture is captured by the desiccant. When the compressor reaches its cutout pressure a signal is sent to the dryer to regenerate the desiccant bed. At this time, dry air is
back-flowed through the desiccant. The dry air attracts the moisture in the desiccant and is vented to atmosphere along with the contamination in the sump.

ECAM

ECAM
Haldex Electronically Controlled Air Management (ECAM) combines the functions of the air dryer, governor and pneumatic valves into one unit, which is capable of interaction with the engine management system and other vehicle systems. The ECAM eliminates the need for multiple valves and provides a dramatic improvement in air system performance.

Consep
|
|
Consep
Purpose:
The Haldex Consep (Condenser/Separator) is designed to condense, separate and expel the majority of the oil, water and contaminates before reaching the air system. The Consep in normally mounted before the air dryer but it can be installed as a standalone condenser/separator between the compressor and wet tank.
Operation:
As air enters the Consep it is cooled as it spirals down the baffled interior. The air changes direction and the contaminates are dropped in the sump area. The bottom of the sump is equipped with the
Haldex Automatic Drain Valve (ADV). The ADV is connected through the brake light circuit and every time the brakes are applied the contaminates are ejected.
| Features and Benefits:
|
|
Removes contamination before reaching the air dryer
|
| |
Increases air dryer desiccant life |
| |
Reduces vehicle downtime
|
Reduces the temperature of the air entering the dryer
|
| |
Improved air dryer efficiency and performance

Automatic Drain Valve
|
|
Automatic Drain Valve
Purpose:
The Haldex Automatic Drain Valve (ADV) is designed to be mounted in the wet/supply tank or Haldex Consep (Condenser/Separator). This valve eliminates the need to manually drain the wet tank.
Operation:
This unique valve is operated by the brake light switch and is not dependent on the compressor cycling. Every time the brake is applied, contaminates accumulated in the ADV sump are expelled. The ADV is equipped with an integrated heater to avoid
freeze-ups.
| Features and Benefits:
|
| The ADV reduces the amount of contamination entering the air system
|
| |
Condensation is continually being flushed from the wet tank to avoid
carry-over into the air system |
| |
Reduces air system contamination and valve
maintenance |
| |
You no longer have to rely on someone to manually drain the wet
tank
|
ADV operates off the brake light circuit |
| |
The high frequency of brake application prevents accumulation of contamination in the
reservoirs
|
Fail safe valve, no diaphragms to cause system leakage
|
| |
If an electrical failure occurs the valve is self sealing to prevent leakage |
| |
The valve features a backup manual drain valve for testing |
